The Black Sea Maritime Archaeology Project (MAP)’s education programme is seeking 16 A Level (or equivalent) Y12 students to join the project as STEM Scholars.
STEM Scholars will travel on a journey of discovery through thousands of years from the dawn of human life to recent history as they explore deep below the surface of the Black Sea. They will be joining one of the largest multi-disciplinary maritime archaeology projects ever attempted.
Working with the expedition’s international team of researchers, we will identify STEM research questions about sea-level change, marine palaeo-climates and marine archaeology along the Bulgarian Black Sea littoral (coastal environment). Sixteen high potential students, who wouldn’t normally get access to such experiences, will be carefully selected as STEM Scholars. Eight Scholars will carry out an onboard project and eight will be placed in an onshore project.
